Classes Offered

Happy Hearts offers programs for children ages 2 to 6 years old. Class descriptions are provided below. If you have any other questions, please contact the Happy Hearts director, Jessica Thompson at jthompson@happyheartsocala.org.

All classes begin at 8:30 am and end at 12:00 pm with the exception of Red Birds. See the description below for more details.

Early Birds:

This class is designed for children between the ages of 2 and 3. Children must be age 2 prior to Sept 1st (the start of the school year). Children will participate in activities targeting fine motor skills and pre-literacy skills. The Early Bird curriculum is interactive and engaging for the children. This class meets two days a week - Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as a 5 day class.

Hummingbirds:

This class is designed for children between the ages of 3 and 4. Children must be age 3 prior to Sept 1st ( the start of the school year). Children will participate in activities targeting fine motor skills and pre-literacy skills. Handwriting without Tears Curriculum is the Primary Curriculum used. Students will benefit from an innovative and creative approach to the classroom experience. There are two class options for children wishing to participate. 3-day Hummingbirds meet Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. 5-day Hummingbirds meet Monday-Friday. Children must be potty trained for this class.

Green Birds & Blue Birds:

This course is designed for children between the ages of 4 and 5. This course focuses on kindergarten readiness. The curriculum includes phonics, math skills, and enrichment activities. ABeka Curriculum is the primary Curriculum used. A hands-on, interactive approach is utilized in these classes. Children eligible for VPK may enroll in this course as well as tuition based students.

Red Birds (Advanced K-4):

This course is designed for parent's seeking an advanced curriculum for their children. Children between the ages of 4-6 are suitable for this program. Children eligible for kindergarten, but wishing to delay kindergarten enrollment an additional year are the ideal candidates. This course focuses on skills covered in a typical kindergarten classroom while ensuring the children meet all requirements of the VPK program. This course meets five days a week for an extended period of time. ABeka Curriculum is the primary curriculum used.
